NAMIBIA’s PRESIDENT DISCUSS E-GOVERNANCE WITH ESTONIA PRESIDENT
Namibia plans to move into e-governance after meeting with Estonia delegates.
Namibia President Hage G. Geingob has held a bilateral meeting with Estonia President Kersti Kaljulaid in the state capital Windhoek. The focus of the meeting was on e-governance and digital transformation in Africa.
Namibia is planning to introduce e-governance so as to transform its economy and also digitize the nation. They plan to use it for delivering government services, exchange of information etc.
E-governance is important because it engenders change in any governance system. It also helps in achieving developmental goals and ensure better service delivery to citizens and other stakeholders.
The discussion for the meeting also included digital transformation in Africa. This area is one that Africa nations in general are having serious challenge with.
Digital transformation in Africa can be achieved by investing, building and sharing digital infrastructure. It will help in developing a national digital identification system and provide a target approach towards skills development.
